Q. Is it possible to submit a late application?
A. In cases where the selection process has not gone too far (i.e.
providing the stage has not been reached of rejecting any candidate, or drawing
up a longlist or shortlist) then the BIO-key may accept a late application. In
practice, this is likely to mean that applications submitted more than a day or
two after the closing date will not be accepted but applicants should be aware
that, for some vacancies, there may be a need to act quickly after the closing
date and it may not therefore be possible to accept any late applications. If
your application is likely to be late, it is best to call the Human Resources
Department for further particulars of the vacancy details (preferably before the
closing date) to seek advice.
Q. I cannot make the interview time/date I have
been given: is it possible to re-arrange it?
A. Applicants are asked to state dates when they may be unavailable and
BIO-key will try to accommodate these restrictions. However, it is not always
possible to do so, particularly if it is necessary to arrange a date when
several members of staff may be involved in the selection/interview process.
Where possible, BIO-key would try to suit the candidate but the commitments of
selectors may prevent such re-arrangements. Ultimately, the selection may need
to proceed in the absence of a shortlisted candidate and BIO-key regrets the
need to act occasionally in this way. If you are unable to attend at the time
you have been given, call the person who has sent you the letter giving details
of your interview as soon as possible.
Q. In cases where a starting salary range is
advertised, how is the starting salary determined?
A. The purpose of advertising a starting salary range is to attract a
broad range of applicants. The starting salary of the successful candidate will
be determined in relation to his/her existing salary; the salaries of existing
members of BIO-key staff engaged in similar duties; and any external forces
which may affect the starting salary level. Applicants are advised that it is
the policy of BIO-key to pay a starting salary within, and not above, the
starting salary range. If you are not prepared to accept an offer within the
advertised salary range, you should not be applying for the job!
BIO-key International, Inc., is committed to an Equal Employment
Opportunity/Affirmative Action policy and will not discriminate against an

ordinances. Any offer of employment is conditional upon the applicant passing a
pre-employment background check subject to federal, state and local laws.
