There are many great feature enhancements with InfoServer 5.1 and one of the best is PatrolJournal. MobileCop users can now easily capture vehicle inspection and activity information to create daily reports. With PatrolJournal, dispatched calls for service and activities are automatically captured in each user's report. This can greatly reduce data entry errors and eliminate the need to make manual calculations. Do you have multiple agencies on your system? No problem! PatrolJournal readily supports multiple agencies.

For even more flexibility, consider an upgrade to PatrolJournal Enterprise. For a nominal fee per mobile client you can add more features and functionality for customization and detailed reporting. Changing field labels and attributes, identifying required fields, and a comprehensive suite of supervisory reports are just some of the benefits of upgrading to PatrolJournal Enterprise.

If you haven't upgraded your server to InfoServer 5.1 yet, consider doing so today to take advantage of the many new features and benefits, including PatrolJournal. For more information contact Customer Support at 800-355-1313.
While Congress did act on the FY 2007 Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill and the President signed it into law, the Department of Justice appropriations bill wasn’t passed before Congress adjourned. Congress did, however, pass a continuing resolution good until February 15th (it can be extended), which keeps things operating at last fiscal year's levels. This means that virtually all of the DOJ grant programs are in limbo until the new Congress passes the pending appropriations bills.

According to the CJIS Group, the good news is that Democrats are normally more inclined to fund grant programs at a higher level than Republicans, especially when there is a Republican President in office. And, even certain Republicans have been openly critical of the Administrations' efforts to zero out the JAG and COPS programs.

Depending on who you are, there could also be some bad news. Throughout all of the federal government billions of dollars in earmarks may be lost. In the DOJ grant programs the number would be in the millions of dollars. The incoming House and Senate Appropriations Committee chairmen have said there will be no congressional earmarks. Quickly endorsing this were the incoming Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader. Interestingly, appropriations committee members from both parties were surprised to hear the news.

Once the dust settles and the final federal funding picture is clear, BIO-key will be hosting a federal funding webinar with the CJIS Group to inform our customers of the opportunities available. You will receive a special notice when this is scheduled.
We all know what happens when you assume. So, while we know that you know where to find us when you have a specific question, we don’t want to assume that you’re getting all the information and help available to use our products, and the service you expect from everyone here at BIO-key.

That’s why in January we’re starting what we’re calling BIO-key Customer Care.

You’ll be hearing by telephone from our customer care team of Dave Edelstein, Geoff Yochum and Lynn Fitzgerald. They’ll be asking some brief questions about your agency, what information you find useful and the best way for us to communicate with you.

We know you’re busy, and you probably get more calls and email than you can handle already. We think that BIO-key Customer Care will help us make sure that the information you get really meets your needs. We want to make sure that there’s a good reason for you to keep us in your “Favorites” list, and out of your “Junk Mail” folder.
There are quite a few customers that host other agencies off of their server. This means that you own the licenses and allocate them to other agencies. We know who some of you are but not others so if you are hosting one or more other agencies on your server, please let us know by sending an email with the name of your agency and the agencies you host.
