Senior Sales Representitive

BIO-key International, a leader in biometric identification technology has an opening for a Senior Sales Representative.  BIO-key develops and delivers advanced identification software solutions to commercial and government enterprises, integrators, and custom application developers. BIO-key’s award winning, high performance, scalable, cost-effective and easy-to-deploy biometric finger identification technology accurately identifies and authenticates users of wireless and enterprise applications. Our solutions are used in embedded OEM products as well as many of the industry’s leading Identity and Access Management solutions including some of the world’s largest identification deployments to improve security, guarantee identity, and help reduce identity theft. 


Job Overview:  

BIO-key has an immediate opening for an experienced Area Sales Representative to join our successful sales team.  We are looking for a senior level sales representative to sell finger biometric software solutions and services to Partners, Resellers, OEM’s and Enterprise customers. Location for this position is in the NY/NJ/Philadelphia area.  The candidate must be highly motivated and able to work independently, have excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on persuasion and presentation abilities and a software technology background. Preferred background experience in the area of security, enterprise single sign on, strong authentication, identity and access management solutions.  Knowledge of Healthcare and the Financial Industry is a plus,

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve individual and company objectives primarily through sales to new customers and also through sales of additional solutions to existing customers, partners and resellers
  • Identify sales opportunities through direct prospecting, lead follow up, networking and partner relationships
  • Manage sales process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, negotiation and close
  • Work closely with pre-sales team to develop effective sales strategies
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge about BIO-key’s products and services
  • Develop and maintain an effective business, sales and marketing plan for assigned territory
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the territory, marketplace, competitive offerings and other business issues relevant to the position
  • Use effective time and territory management to maximize results by consistently maintaining a reasonable number of new weekly face-to-face prospect meetings
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third party vendors to increase direct selling opportunities
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs, coordinating and organizing input from multiple sources within BIO-key
  • Properly forecasts monthly, quarterly and annual revenue numbers for assigned territory
  • Document daily sales activities in sales force automation tool, prepare reports, manage pipeline and perform other tasks necessary to drive sales revenue and communicate activities to sales management
  • Be an active team player both on the sales team and throughout BIO-key to help meet company objectives
  • Provide feedback from field experience to sales management as well as internal cross-functional teams
  • Operate under moderate supervision

Position Requirements  

Education, Experience & Training:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of  5 years of selling  software and services in cross-vertical markets
  • Documented success achieving and exceeding assigned quotas
  • Consultative sales training

Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Creative problem solver
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Sales experience with identity management applications is a strong plus
  • Excellent PC and Internet skills, including experience using Microsoft Office, Outlook, sales force automation tools and web presentation applications (WebEx, etc.)
  • Proven success in smaller companies
  • Job involves approximately 25-30% travel
