How will this change impact me?

If you are an existing user of WEB-key, IDDfW or any of our other solutions, there will be no changes.  Your support and sales representatives have stayed the same.  The process to contact support is also the same.

What are the benefits to me?

Will my hardware warranties be affected?

There will be no changes to existing warranties.

Will service quality change? Are there different service hours?

Everything will be staying the same as a BIO-key customer.  You will receive the same high quality of support that you have been accustomed to.

Will there be any staffing changes that might affect me?

There are no changes of personnel planned in the near future.  If there are any, we will do our best to keep our customers updated.

Who do I call if I have a problem or concern?

How does my billing change? Is there a different pricing model now?

Pricing for all of the existing BIO-key products will stay the same.  All billing processes and subscription renewals will also stay the same.

Will there be any other way to find out more about the PortalGuard acquisition?

We will be conducting a webinar for our existing customers and prospects in the near term.  Also, there are some exciting announcements planned for the near future.  Please stay tuned for both.

Who is PistolStar and what is their relationship with PortalGuard?

PistolStar was the actual holding company that BIO-key acquired.  PortalGuard is their trademark IAM suite of products.

Will the billing address be the same?

Are you still located in the same physical location?

The PistolStar subsidiary will remain located in Bedford, NH; however, the parent company BIO-key headquarters is in New Jersey.

Will our support fees increase?

No, your support fees will remain the same. But you may lock in the fees signing up for a multiyear contract.

Will the EULA still be honored?

Yes, the EULA you signed when you purchased remains in place.

Is the product still called PortalGuard?

Yes, the trademark PortalGuard will always refer to the on-premises version.

Will the main phone number be the same?

Yes, 603.547.1200 is a valid number to get in touch with PistolStar and PortalGuard.

Will BIO-key’s biometric authentication solution become immediately available to PortalGuard customers?

Yes, today Bio-key is already integrated into PortalGuard. Please contact us to obtain the latest PortalGuard version.

Who is the President?

Mark Cochran is the President for PistolStar a subsidiary of BIO-key whereas Mike DePasquale is the Chairman & CEO of BIO-key the parent company.

Is PistolStar, Inc a private company?

No, PistolStar is now part of BIO-key International Inc. a public company listed on the NASDAQ with a trading symbol BKYI.
