BIO-key has an opening for a Support / Test Development Engineer. BIO- key
develops and delivers advanced identification solutions to commercial and
government enterprises. Our solutions are used in local embedded OEM products as
well as some of the world’s largest identification deployments to improve
security, guarantee identity, and help reduce identity theft. integrators, and
custom application developers.
The Candidate will be a key member of a
team of developers, scientists and engineers providing support, testing and
development solutions for the company’s core products. Key responsibilities
include supporting customer needs and questions, developing and executing system
tests and performance optimizations, and developing and enhancing core
technologies and products. Also included
is writing and enhancing documentation and performance metrics.
The Development Test Engineer will:

Work with Biometric Engineering personnel to
refine requirements, devising, building and executing test scenarios to
exercise the systems.

Work with End Customers or Prime Contractors to
support needs, updates or specifications for specific operational profiles
for the product, allowing for accurate customer configurations.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of core
products, including primary responsibility for application connectors to
many partner applications from many vertical markets.

Be responsible for communications of findings to the
team and management, updating and refining documentation, assisting with
training of new customers and overall have a strong 'can do' attitude to
tight and varying schedules.
The
individual must know and be able to configure server operating systems (Windows,
Linux), application server environments (JSP, .NET, etc) including the
application servers (Apache, Oracle Application Server, IIS, etc), able to
diagnose issues and quickly identify solutions, understand and be able to trace
communication protocols, Communicate effectively with customers and management
in written and verbal forms, and be able to code and debug code in Java, .NET
(C#) and more.
The following are the minimum technical requirements for
the position:

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum of two (2) years of working with customers on solution architecting
and issue resolution.

Minimum
of three (3) years industry experience coding and debugging in Java, .NET
(C#) and more

Minimum of two (2) years industry experience in server configuration and
application administration (Windows, Linux), application server
environments (IIS, Apache, Oracle)
-
Minimum of three (3) years industry experience utilizing SQL and database
interfaces
-
Minimum of three (3) years industry experience utilizing source code /
document control systems
-
Minimum of two (2) years industry experience utilizing Java or JavaScript
-
Minimum of two (2) years industry experience utilizing HTML
-
Minimum of understanding of TCP/IP and protocol analysis
The

Travel could be required a few times a year to

Intern Engineer
Job Description:
We are currently searching
for an intern candidate. This position is temporary full-time in our
Technology Group as a Biometric Intern
Engineer.
Responsibilities:
-
The Biometric
Intern Engineer will be responsible for testing
various software applications.
-
Perform functionality and
accuracy testing of company’s software
-
Help with statistical analysis
of the test results, including writing simple applications for automating
testing procedures.
-
Perform regular reviews of the
new technical information on fingerprint biometrics (online journals,
technical reports, US patents, etc) and provide timely reporting on those.
-
Help technical team members as
needed.
Position
Qualifications/Desired Skills:
Education and Work Experience:
BS in Math, Applied Math and/or Statistics along
with a minor in Computer Science (or vise versa). Coding experience with
C/C++ is required. Some knowledge
of Matlab or Mathematica is desired. Working knowledge of algorithms and data
structures is expected. Additional desired requirements: Knowledge of data
mining techniques, SAS programming, image processing techniques and algorithms.
Good written and verbal communications.
This position is temporary
full-time (32-40 hours per week) in our Eagan, MN facility. Hours of work are
from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Pay rate is $15.00 per hour.
